Two Killed in Separate Trailer Accidents in Navi Mumbai

In two tragic road accidents reported on Sunday, a nine-year-old boy and a 30-year-old painter lost their lives after being crushed by trailers in separate incidents along the Mumbra–Panvel Road and the Steel Market area of Kalamboli, Navi Mumbai.

According to the police, the first accident occurred around 11:45 am near the Foodland signal at Roadpali. A father and his young son were travelling toward Taloja on a two-wheeler when a trailer, allegedly being driven rashly, took a sudden turn and collided with their vehicle. The impact caused the child to fall onto the road, where he was run over by the trailer’s rear wheel. He died instantly. The driver, identified as Rajkaran Ramharak Verma (22) from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, has been booked for causing death by negligence. He was issued a notice of appearance and allowed to leave as part of due legal procedure.

In the second incident, Manoj Kumar Ram Baks (30), a painter, was killed in the Steel Market area of Kalamboli. Police said he was painting the rear side of a stationary trailer when another speeding trailer, driven by Ravinder Singh Sukhdev Singh Gill (37), rammed into it. The impact pushed the parked trailer forward, crushing the painter between the two vehicles.

Both cases are under investigation, and police have urged heavy vehicle drivers to maintain strict caution in industrial zones and congested corridors.
