Tragic Leap in Taloja: 19-Year-Old Student Dies by Suicide While Alone at Home

NAVI MUMBAI A 19-year-old hotel management student allegedly died by suicide on Sunday afternoon after jumping from the 10th-floor refuge area of her residential building in Taloja. The young girl, who had been undergoing psychiatric treatment for the past two years, lived with her parents on the 11th floor.

According to the Taloja police, the incident took place when the girl was home alone her father was at work, and her mother had gone to Satara to care for her ailing mother. Around 3 p.m., residents reported the fall, and she was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Sagar Nikam, PI (crime), Taloja police, confirmed that an accidental death report has been registered. Preliminary inquiries revealed that the teen had been under medical care for mental health issues. Her father, employed with a private firm, and her sister, who works in Pune, were informed immediately.

The tragic incident once again highlights the growing mental health crisis among youth and the urgent need for awareness, compassion, and early intervention.
